The City of Yellowknife is asking residents to weigh in on where you can buy cannabis in town.
Right now, the liquor store on Old Airport Road is the only physical store that sells cannabis.
While federal government legalized cannabis last October and the territorial government regulates the distribution and sales, the city is actually responsible for where shops can set up.
Residents can respond to an online survey to share their opinions on where cannabis can be sold. Residents who prefer a paper copy of the survey can request one at City Hall.
The survey asks about possible buffer zones around public spaces like schools, recreational facilities and medical centres, as well as if cannabis retail store should be grouped in a certain part of town.
Residents have until June 2 to fill out the survey.
