The NWT RCMP have charged three people in connection with a 2022 homicide in Yellowknife.

In August 2022, 28-year-old Feysal Farah was found dead in an apartment on Con Road.

Police have charged three people with manslaughter involving a firearm, nearly three years later. The charges were laid in May 2025.

Those charged are 24-year-old Salim Shekh of Edmonton, 34-year-old Synthea Hope of Fort Simpson, and a 20-year-old man from Edmonton.

Shekh was arrested in Edmonton earlier this month. Hope was arrested in the NWT. A warrant has been issued for the third suspect, whose name cannot be released because he was a youth at the time of the offence.

RCMP recognized that homicide investigations can be long and difficult for families and thanked the Farah family for their patience and support.
