Fort Smith man charged after assault with firearm

A 32-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police say he struck someone with a firearm during an assault in Fort Smith

A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged after an assault involving a firearm in Fort Smith.

RCMP responded to a residence on May 31st after a report that a person had been struck with a firearm, stated a release. No shots were fired.

The suspect, Terron Stevens of Fort Smith, was arrested at the scene. A search of the home on June 1st led to the seizure of cash and ammunition, but the firearm was not found.

Stevens faces multiple charges, including:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order

He has been remanded into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
