The Northwest Territories RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit is currently asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who failed to appear in court.

After he failed to appear in court on May 9th, the Supreme Court of the NWT issued a search warrant for 56-year-old Aydarus Abdi Warsame, who has supposed to be facing one charge of Possession of Child Pornography, and one count of Accessing Child Pornography. Warsame is now facing the additional charge of Failure to Attend Court.

Several attempts have already been made by the RCMP to locate Warsame, but he has so far evaded custody, and the public is now being asked to assist in the search. Warsame’s last known address was in Edmonton, but authorities are not currently aware of his current residence.

Warsame is described as 180cm/5’10”, weighing around 91kg/200lbs. He has a bald head, a black beard, and brown eyes. Anyone who may have information on his current whereabouts is asked to contact the Yellowknife RCMP at 669-1111, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
