A 31-year-old man from Leduc, Alberta is behind a series of thefts in Hay River, according to RCMP.
Lyndsay James Vanderlee is facing a series of theft-related charges, including theft and misuse of a credit car, theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
In a news release, police said, “Local residents have provided crucial information on the incidents,” which helped police find Vanderlee.
He has since appeared in court in Yellowknife and is scheduled to be back in court on December 8.
Police are still looking for a red and white 2012 Honda off-road motorcycle.
RCMP say the motorbike “may have been sold as stolen property or stashed somewhere within Hay River for later retrieval.”
Police say much of the stolen property has been returned to the owners, with a few items remaining to be claimed, including: keys, tools, cases and electronic devices.
If you are missing items, you can claim them by contacting Hay River RCMP.
Finally, police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and to hide any valuable items out of sight.
