Hay River RCMP investigating attempted arson linked to drug trade

Two suspects fled before officers arrived; no injuries reported

Hay River RCMP are investigating an attempted arson at a residence on Stewart Drive early Wednesday morning.

According to a Thursday news release, two suspects fled on foot before officers arrived. The fire was distinguished by a resident and no injuries were reported.

“This incident is believed to be related to the local drug trade,” stated the RCMP. “The investigation remains ongoing and no arrests have been made.”

Residents with information are urged to contact the Hay River RCMP at 874-1111 or submit a tip via Crime Stopper.
