Hay River RCMP is seeking assistance from the public in identifying an injured traveler who called for help early Friday morning.
In a news release, police said they received a call at 1:25 a.m. from a man who identified himself as “Jerry”. He reported suffering an injury, possibly a broken bone, while riding a snowmobile on a trail near Enterprise. The caller requested help to get off the trail and receive medical treatment.
However, the call was disconnected, and the RCMP have been unable to reach the man since. Officers conducted a search in the area of Enterprise but did not find anyone or any vehicle.
Police are urging anyone who might know a person named “Jerry” to contact the Yellowknife RCMP at 867-874-1111. Efforts to locate the caller are ongoing.
