Yellowknife woman accused of transmitting, possessing child pornography

She faces three charges and is on bail with strict conditions to avoid anyone under the age of 16

A 39-year-old Yellowknife woman faces child pornography charges after a year-long investigation by the Northwest Territories RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

In October 2023, RCMP began an investigation and in February 2024, a suspect was arrested and a search warrant was executed on a residence in Yellowknife, stated a release.

Several electronic devices were seized and sent for forensic examination. The suspect was released pending the results of the examination.

Forensic analysis was subsequently completed and afforded evidence to support formal charges.

On October 17th, 39-year-old Angel Anderson of Yellowknife was charged with two counts of transmitting child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

A Justice of the Peace released Anderson on bail with several conditions, including: Not to work or volunteer or be in a position of trust around those under the age of 16 years; and to not go to public places where persons under the age of 16 years are present or could reasonably be expected to be present.

All charged persons are to be considered innocent until the evidence can be tested in court.
