A young man wanted for a violent home invasion two weeks ago was arrested after another similar crime saw a crossbow and bear-spray used, plus another sharp weapon.
On September 22nd, Norman Wells RCMP received a report that a person had been stabbed at a residence, stated a release.
Officers attended the location and confirmed a person had been the victim of a stabbing.
Police determined a significant altercation had occurred at the residence and another person had been both shot with a crossbow and bear-sprayed.
Both victims were transported out of the community for treatment.
Police located and took 23-year-old Teagan Sutherland into custody in relation to the matter. He has been charged with:
- Breaking and Entering with Intent;
- Disguised with intent to commit an offence;
- Two counts of uttering threats against a person;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
- Aggravated assault.
At the time of his arrest, Sutherland had an active warrant for his arrest and was facing charges from a prior incident on September 11th. It’s unclear if it was in the same community.
They are as follows:
- Breaking and Entering with Intent;
- Two counts of disguised with intent to commit an offence;
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.;
- Two counts of assault with a weapon; and
- Uttering threats.
Sutherland has appeared before a Justice of the Peace on all charges and was remanded into custody to appear again on September 25th. He is to be considered innocent until the charges against him are tested in court.
