Suspected drug dealer arrested at Délı̨nę airport

Tip from public led RCMP to meet passengers as they disembarked

A Yellowknife man with several warrants has been arrested at the Délı̨nę airport after the police received a tip about his flight.

Délı̨nę RCMP says they found approximately 17 grams of suspected cocaine and other paraphernalia during the arrest.

As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old Billy John McNeely has been charged with a drug trafficking offence and failure to comply with release order condition.

McNeely is expected to appear in court today.

Update at August 29, 2:00 MT: RCMP updated the name of the accused as Billy John McNeely, instead of William McNeely in the original police report.
