Eugene Hope re-named chief of Acho Dene Koe First Nation

Eugene Hope was re-elected chief of Acho Dene Ko First Nation on Thursday.

That is according to preliminary results posted on the community’s Facebook page.

Hope won the seat with a wide margin ringing in 158 votes, Brenda Berreault received 75 and Vanessa Villeneuve had 15.

However, Berreault and Villeneuve find themselves acclaimed as part of council. They join Donny Bertrand, Morris McLeod and Dennis Nelson.

Out of roughly 445 residents, 251 voted and three ballots were spoiled.
