Behchokǫ̀ RCMP received a report on Sunday that two people had escaped from a residence in the community where they had been held against their will by an armed man.
Information indicated that a third person was still inside the residence, also being held, stated a release.
The “G” Division Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services and Crisis Negotiators were engaged and attended the residence with officers from Behchokǫ̀ detachment.

“The accused was contacted by negotiators and departed the residence,” he stated.
“He was taken into custody. No injuries were reported as a result of this occurrence.”
Forty-one-year-old David Wedzin faces charges of: Two counts of pointing a firearm; one count each of uttering threats; obstructing a peace officer; and resisting a peace officer.
He’s being held pending a court appearance today.
