Norman Wells man arrested for armed robbery and faces 14 charges

'No shots were reported to have been fired, not rick to the public at this time,' the Police says

Norman Wells RCMP reports that a masked man with a firearm broke into and robbed a couple of residences in the early morning of June 23.

With the help of the public, police were able to arrest 30-year-old Kevin KIVI of Norman Wells.

Upon investigation, the police learned that KIVI had also broken into and stolen from a local business. Another report said that KIVI had held a person at gunpoint during a robbery.

“No shots were reported to have been fired during these incidents and there is not believed to be any risk to the public at this time,” says the RCMP in a news release.

KIVI faces 14 charges, including breaking and entering with intent, unauthorized possession of a weapon, robbery with a firearm and theft under $5,000.

KIVI appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody to appear in court at a later date.
