UPDATE: Ongoing police operation in Hay River results in arrests
As of late Monday afternoon, RCMP asked residents to avoid Pine Crescent and not to share livestreams of the activity as it could endangers officers
The RCMP are making the public aware of a police operation that is currently ongoing in the community of Hay River, on Pine Crescent.
Residents of the community may notice an increased police presence and are asked to avoid the area of Pine Crescent.
We also ask that people do not share photos, videos, live streams, or details about police activity, officer locations, or movements on social media.
Sharing this type of information can impact the safety of everyone involved.

UPDATE: At 11:30 pm, RCMP issued a notice stating the police operation in Hay River has concluded and there is no further risk to the public. A further update will be provided as soon as more information is available. Stated the release: Hay River RCMP would like to thank residents for their cooperation and support as we worked to resolve this matter.
CORRECTON: Confusion over a social media post regarding a year-old similar operation in Hay River resulted in incorrect information being posted at 5 pm.
