Jeremy Parkin on release of new song ‘Fighting’
Kwanlin Dün musician on new single release, and development as a musician
Jeremy Parkin is an artist and producer from Whitehorse and is a part of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation. His debut album ‘Black Dog’ was released in 2017, which includes mellow and intense electronic instrumentals. Hailing from Whitehorse, Yukon, Parkin’s new single is, he said, the first song released under his own name where he is singing on the track.
‘Black Dog’ includes a wide variety of sound, texture and rhythm, but is truly mostly a pure wall of sound. From ‘I feel Quiet’ and ‘Walking Home’ to the rhythmic crunch of ‘Sunday,’ the album is a showcase of the stretches of creativity and imagination which are redefining music genre’s. The song ‘Everything’ includes recordings from the skytrain in Vancouver, my hometown. and truly evoked the ambience of late night skytrain rides, where you ride all the way to the end of the line.
His new single “Fighting” will be the first of more music set to be released, he says, all of which features his own vocals.
