Aurora College has suspended all scheduled classes at all campuses and online during the week of January 5th to 9th due to a “cyber-attack,” says a senior official with the school.

The attack happened during the Christmas break and staff have been working towards remediation and recovery of the system “and to purge any malicious code,” Communications Manager Jayne Murray stated in a Sunday evening notice.

“That work is expected to continue most of the week. So far, no evidence of a data breach or ransomware has been detected.”

Access to all of the college’s servers, e-learning platforms, email and self-service and student application portals are not available.

It is expected they will be down for the rest of the week. Aurora College’s website is not affected by the outage.

Murray stated that although classes are suspended, Aurora College faculty and staff will be on site and will be available to students by phone and in person, beginning the morning of January 5th.

Information and updates for students and the public will be shared on the College’s website and social media accounts.
