Yellowknife man charged in armed robbery on Old Airport Road

RCMP say suspect fled on foot after threatening staff with a knife


A 36-year-old man has been charged in connection with a robbery at a business on Old Airport Road, say Yellowknife RCMP.

According to a Wednesday news release, the incident happened around 11:57 a.m. on Friday, May 16. Police say a man threatened staff with a knife before fleeing on foot with stolen merchandise.

Frankie Eyakfwo of Yellowknife was arrested shortly after police arrived on scene.

He has been charged with extortion without a firearm and has appeared before a Justice of the Peace. Eyakfwo is expected to appear in court again today.
