Twelve-year-old boy arrested after shots fired into Fort McPherson home

Firearm recovered suspected to have been used in shooting; suspect arrested without incident and faces serious charges, say police

A 12-year-old boy is in custody after an early morning shooting last week in Fort McPherson.

RCMP say they responded to a report of shots fired just after 5 a.m. on May 16.

A firearm had allegedly been discharged through the window of a home where another youth was inside, and threats were made, stated a release.

Officers tracked the suspect to another residence and made an arrest without incident.

A gun believed to have been used was recovered.

The boy, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing multiple charges, including discharging a firearm with intent, uttering threats, and unsafe storage of a firearm.
