One person is in custody while arrest warrants have been issued for two others after Fort Smith RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion with a firearm last week.

Cst. Josh Seaward stated in a release: “This matter is believed to be isolated, with all involved parties being known to each other.”

Shortly before 2 a.m. on May 5th, Fort Smith RCMP received a report that three men had broken into a home on St. Ann’s street in Fort Smith and threatened to shoot the occupant approximately two hours prior to the call.

A gun was reported to have been brandished by one of the suspects during the incident, stated the release.

The victim escaped from the residence unharmed.

On May 8th, one of the suspects, 24-year-old Lance Heron was arrested without incident in Fort Smith and now faces charges including: Uttering threats against a person; uttering threats against an animal, intimidation, and using a firearm in the commission of an offence.

The remaining two suspects, 28-year-old Deonne Bourke, and 25-year-old Tristan Mercredi, have active warrants for their arrest and each face the above charges as well as additional firearms-related charges.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects is asked not to approach them and instead contact Fort Smith RCMP at 867-874-1111 or Crime Stoppers at p3tips.com.  As always, in the event of an emergency call, 911.
