One man has been arrested and two others are wanted after an armed home invasion in Fort Smith last week.

RCMP say three men broke into a home on St. Ann’s Street around midnight on May 5, threatening the occupant with a firearm. The victim escaped without injury and contacted police about two hours later.

Due to the delay in reporting, the suspects were not immediately located.

On May 8, 24-year-old Lance Heron was arrested without incident. He faces multiple charges, including break and enter, uttering threats, intimidation, mischief, and using a firearm in the commission of an offence. He remains in custody following a court appearance.

Arrest warrants have been issued for two other suspects, 28-year-old Deonne Bourke and 25-year-old Tristan Mercredi. Both face similar charges, along with additional offences. Bourke is charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, while Mercredi faces multiple firearms and probation-related charges.

Police say the incident appears to be targeted, and all individuals involved are known to each other.

Additional RCMP resources, including the Territorial Crime Reduction Unit and Police Dog Services, are involved in the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Bourke or Mercredi is urged not to approach them. Contact Fort Smith RCMP at 867-874-1111 or submit an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers at http://www.p3tips.com. In an emergency, call 911.
