Fentanyl and crack-cocaine was seized from a residence on Kátł’odeeche First Nation that was unlawfully occupied by three people on Tuesday, say RCMP.
Officers were called to the residence just before midnight on April 22 and upon arrival, they found three individuals inside, along with a quantity of drugs, cash, and other drug paraphernalia, stated a release on Thursday.
Police say they recovered approximately 43 grams of suspected fentanyl, 41 grams of suspected crack-cocaine, and more than $5,000 in cash.
The individuals arrested are 36-year-old Rono Kim of Ontario, 58-year-old Wallace Burke of Hay River, and 24-year-old Faith Martel of Kátł’odeeche First Nation.
All three have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
“Hay River RCMP once again wish to thank Kátł’odeeche First Nation for their assistance and support in combatting the illicit drug trade,” the release stated.
All three appeared before a Justice of the Peace and were taken into custody.
