Pair on bail for drug charges outside of NWT busted in Fort Resolution after shots fired

Two men on bail for alleged drug offences in Alberta and Ontario face more charges after Fort Resolution RCMP seized a quantity of cocaine and firearms while responding to a report of shots fired.

On March 25th at approximately 5:36 p.m. police received a report that several shots had been fired inside a residence and a person was possibly in danger.

Officers attended and found several people who were not tenants of the residence, along with “obvious evidence of drug trafficking and a loaded firearm,” stated a release.

Upon the execution of a search warrant, police located approximately 465 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 79 grams of illicit cannabis, two loaded sawn-off shotguns, $500 in cash as well as several cell phones and other drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, 24-year-old Karrar Al-Dabagh of Ontario, and 23-year-old Mohammed Sessay of Edmonton have both been charged with drug, firearms and failure to comply with court order offences.

A third individual, a 42-year-old female from the Northwest Territories, was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
