Fort Providence RCMP are asking for the public’s help in their investigation of a stolen vehicle abandoned near the community.
According to a Friday news release, a driver fled when officers were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on March 2. The vehicle, a 2017 Black Ford Focus, were later located abandoned near Fort Providence.
“Further examination of the vehicle led to the finding that it had been stolen in Edmonton, Alberta,” stated the release.
The car has since been returned to its rightful owner, and the investigation is ongoing.
