Hay River man charged after replica gun pointed during downtown fight

Kyle Norn has been arrested with multiple charges


A man has been arrested after pointing a gun at a person during a fight in Hay River, according to RCMP.

In a Tuesday release, police say they responded to a fight outside the downtown arena on December 13. Officers located the suspect leaving the scene in a vehicle, and later learned that a replica firearm had been pointed at someone during the altercation.

As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Kyle Norn of Kátł’odeeche First Nation has been charged with four offences, including pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Norn has been remanded into custody and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
