Tulita RCMP acted on a tip from the public last night and it paid off, with the seizure of a large quantity of liquor arriving in the community by boat.

“More great work by our officers in the North District!” stated a post to the RCMP’s social media page.

The Sahtu-region community is alcohol-restricted, with daily limits of how much alcohol can be brought in within a 25-kilometre radius of the Tulita Dene Band Office.

There is now word yet on charges or how many people were involved in the alleged bootlegging scheme.

Anyone with information on bootlegging activities anywhere in the NWT can contact Crimestoppers at P3tips.com.
