19-year-old charged for drug trafficking offences in Yellowknife

Police seized 100g of crack cocaine, $12,000 in cash, and 3 loaded firearms

A 19-year-old from Alberta is facing 10 charges related to drug trafficking and possession of weapons after Yellowknife RCMP executed a search warrant early Thursday morning.

Police seized about $12,000 in cash, 100 grams of suspected crack cocaine, three loaded firearms and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Three people were arrested, but two were later released.

Jackito Guiwan has been charged with two counts of drug trafficking offences, one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and seven counts related to illegal use of weapons.

Guiwan was remanded into custody and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
