2 arrested in Fort Simpson cocaine bust

2 people have been arrested following an investigation for drug trafficking in Fort Simpson.

The culprits were located at the ferry crossing with 30 grams of cocaine in their possession.

A 26-year-old male and a 35-year-old female were arrested with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Dean Riou is the officer in charge of the G division.

“This is another example of the public assisting the police in improving community wellness by providing specific, timely information regarding illicit substances entering our communities,” reads a police report.

Residents with information about drug trafficking or any other serious crime are asked to contact their local RCMP.
