Missing Inuvik man found dead: RCMP

According to police, an unnamed, 29- year old man reported missing Sept. 24 in Inuvik has been found dead.

Police found the man onshore, near the boat launch on Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. after conducting a search on land, air and water.

The man had entered the water at around 4:20 a.m. on Sept. 24, reads the police report.

A woman was also found and treated at the scene by emergency services on Sept. 24.

The relationship between the pair is still unknown.

The man was later transported by boat where RCMP will be assisting the NWT Coroner’s investigation.

RCMP offers condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
