Co-owners of NWT’s Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine open Toronto Stock Exchange Tuesday

It was a history-making morning Tuesday for the co-owners of the Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine, one of the largest employers in the Northwest Territories.  

Stuart Brown, President and CEO of Mountain Province Diamonds opened the Toronto Stock Exchange to celebrate 20 years listed on the market.  

Mountain Province Diamonds is a Canadian diamond mining company headquartered in Toronto.

In joint venture with De Beers Canada, Mountain Province operates the Gahcho Kué mine.

It is located in the Akaitcho Treaty 8 Territory, 85 kilometres southeast of the now shuttered Snap Lake Diamond Mine and about 280 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife.

Mountain Province Diamonds commenced trading on Toronto Stock Exchange on January 22, 1999.
