Women’s Gathering Set To Empower And Unite Inidigenous Women

North Peace Tribal Council is hosting a women’s gathering to discuss issues impacting Indigenous women.

Co-facilitator Rachel A. Snow says the women’s gathering is an opportunity to allow Indigenous women to come together to speak about the different systemic and institutional issues that affect their daily lives.

Snow says there are a number of issues that will be explored at the event and they are all important topics to address.

There are concerns over education. There are concerns over addiction. There are concerns over leadership roles and probably some of the difficulties that our women leaders are facing within a paternalistic society.

The women’s gathering will take place June 18 to June 20 at the High Level Sports Complex in High Level, Alberta.
