On the Land Summit starts in Dettah today

Over 150 people are gathering in Dettah starting today for the Pan-Territorial On the Land Summit.

The four focus themes are: healing, culture, guardianship, collaboration and evaluation.

Panelists include former leaders such as Stephen Kakfwi, Elder B’esha Blondin, and Indigenous Comedian Ryan McMahon.

The NWT’s department of Health and Social Services says the gathering is a commitment to enhance culturally appropriate programs and services.

CKLB will be live broadcasting the summit, until it wraps up Thursday afternoon.
