Fort Liard Woman Organizes Fundraiser For Strays

Stray dogs have been an issue in the Fort Liard Community for some time now. Laura Diamond-C, a resident of Fort Liard has decided to organize a fundraiser for a vet team to come into town and spay, neuter and vaccinate dogs.

Laura says she decided to organize the fundraiser as residents of the community would often ask her for help with the stray dogs.

According to Laura, wild dogs would be running around the street, which can be very dangerous.  Currently, Laura has helped 130 dogs and is trying to help even more.

The hope is that the fundraiser will help a vet team gather the remaining dogs roaming around the street and get them neutered- eventually finding a home. Laura also believes that neutering stray female dogs would help to decrease feral dogs from coming into the Fort Liard community.
