Fort Liard murder suspect in court

A Fort Liard woman, charged with second degree murder, will appear in court again via video on December 18th.

Selena Lomen, 21, made a brief court appearance in Yellowknife Wednesday at which time the judge lifted a publication ban on her name.

She was remanded and remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

CKLB can also now identify the victim: he is 34-year old Danny Klondike.

Condolences go out to his family and friends.

Lomen was charged after RCMP were called after a report of a man with life-threatening wounds at a home on Birch Road in Fort Liard early Sunday morning.

G-Division RCMP say their Major Crimes Unit and the NWT Coroners Service are investigating the death.

A cause of death has not yet been released.

Mounties say they will not release any further information on the homicide.
