Fort Providence man arrested for drug trafficking

The man was found at a local residence and surrendered to the RCMP without incident as they arrived

One man has been arrested in Fort Providence during a drug investigation by the RCMP.

The search occurred on May 14th at a local residence and as part of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The search was led by Fort Providence officers, with help from the Territorial Crime Reduction Unit, the Emergency Response Unit and officers from Hay River and Behchokǫ̀ RCMP.

During the search, the police were able to find a quantity of suspected cocaine, drug supplies, cell phones, and multiple guns.

The man arrested was 29-year-old Keigan Lee Nadli from Fort Providence, who surrendered without incident. He has been charged with:

  • Trafficking a controlled substance,
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking, and
  • Failure to comply with a probation order

Nadli is currently in police custody, and is waiting for a court appearance on May 19th.
