Fort Smith RCMP investigating snowmobile death
Officials are working closely with Saskatchewan RCMP & Coroner's services, as the people involved were from Saskatchewan, and the incident occurred near the Sask border.
RCMP officers in Fort Smith are currently investigating a collision between two snowmobiles that has left one rider dead.
The incident was reported to the police on April 5th, where they were told about the collision happening around 420km east of Fort Smith, close to the Saskatchewan border.
While one of the riders died in the crash, another rider suffered serious injuries that were not life-threatening. The riders were part of a hunting group from Saskatchewan, and have since fled from the area.
The investigation into this incident is being conducted with help from the Saskatchewan RCMP, as well as the Coroner’s Services from the NWT and Saskatchewan.
