Time to hunt down Muskox tags

Applications for Sahtu, North Slave zones must be postmarked before May 15th

Applications for Muskox tags are now being accepted for the 2026-27 hunting season.

Northwest Territories residents with a Resident Hunting Licence will be able to apply for muskox tags in the Sahtu and North Slave zones.

Applications can be obtained at your regional Environment and Climate Change office.

All applications must be postmarked before May 15th. The draw will take place on May 29th, and winners will be contacted during the first week of June.

Tags will not be awarded to hunters who have received a muskox tag in the last four seasons.

And please note there is mandatory harvest reporting to your local Environment and Climate Change office.
