Woman arrested in Ulukhaktok after threatening the public
The 24-year-old had made several posts that suggested a plan to carry out a mass-shooting on the community
A woman was arrested in Ulukhaktok after making multiple threatening social media posts.
Local officers received multiple reports on March 1st about the posts, which seemed to suggest that the suspect was planning to carry out a mass-shooting.
Officers arrived at the suspect’s home and took her into custody, but an investigation of the residence was unable to find firearms of any kind, and it is believed that the suspect does not have any access to firearms.
The 24-year-old suspect was released from custody under a few conditions, including a firearms prohibition and a condition to not attend school within the community.
The suspect is scheduled to make an appearance in court at a later date. Her name is being withheld until such time as her charges have been sworn in court.
