Fort Providence RCMP issue arrest warrant for Nova Scotia woman in fraud investigation

The investigation found that the suspect had been cheating her own former business out of tens of thousands of dollars

Charges have been laid by the Fort Providence RCMP against a 59-year-old woman from Nova Scotia for an investigation into fraud.

The case was first reported to the RCMP on April 4th of 2025, informing them of potential fraud being committed at the Big River Service Station.

The information sent to the police reported that the business had been defrauded of more than $24,000.

After a month of RCMP investigation, a break-in occurred at the location, which video surveillance found to have been committed by the former general manager. That same suspect was determined to be the culprit behind the fraud investigation.

The 59-year-old woman has been charged with Fraud over $5,000, and Breaking and Entering.

The suspect is believed to have returned to Nova Scotia, and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
