RCMP allege they seized more than $128K in illegal goods from B7 Convenience Store, Aurora Delivery and Moving Services

The owner of the B7 Convenience Store on Franklin Avenue in downtown Yellowknife faces a list of charges after RCMP allege they seized more than $128,000 in illegal goods.

The RCMP’s Federal Arctic Unit in the city, conducted an investigation involving the B7 Convenience Store, as well as Aurora Delivery and Moving Services, stated a release.

On December 17th, the RCMP executed several search warrants in Yellowknife, seizing: 21,595 cigarettes; 598 Zynn nicotine pouches; 438 empty vape boxes; 385 vapes; 24 packs of illicit tobacco (shisha); and $57,543 in cash.

Thirty-three-year-old Mamush Mekonin Feyisa, of Yellowknife, is charged with:

  • Selling of tobacco products and raw leaf tobacco;
  • Possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime;
  • Unlawful possession or sale of tobacco products;
  • Unlawful possession or sale specified vaping; and
  • Unlawful possession or sale of vaping products.

Feyisa is scheduled to appear in Yellowknife Territorial Court on February 3rd.
