RCMP investigate vandalism of tractor trailer near Lindberg Landing

Police in Fort Liard are asking for the public’s help for information on this case

Fort Liard RCMP are asking the public for information regarding a vehicle vandalism case that occurred on September 22.

Police say a tractor trailer was parked on Highway 7 near Lindberg Landing when it was vandalized, sustaining numerous slashed tires, broken windows and other damage.

No witnesses have come forward so far.

“The RCMP are aware of some confusion regarding this investigation relating to recent misinformation in the media,” the detachment stated in a Friday release.

“This is a Criminal Code investigation, which is the responsibility of the RCMP.”

Police added there is an ongoing investigation into land leases at Lindberg Landing, which falls under the Department of Environment and Climate Change’s responsibility.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fort Liard RCMP at 867-770-1111 or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
