Motorcyclist dies after crash on Ingraham Trail
RCMP say the 35-year-old rider suffered life-threatening injuries and died in hospital
A 35-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision on the Ingraham Trail near Yellowknife, according to RCMP.
Police say they received a report around 6:30 pm Friday of a crash near the Prosperous Lake boat launch. When officers arrived, bystanders were providing first aid to the rider.
Paramedics later transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The person died in the hospital on Saturday.
RCMP say the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved. The highway was closed for several hours on Friday evening while officers, including a collision analyst, conducted an investigation.
“We extend our condolences to the family of the victim,” RCMP said in a news release Monday.
The Coroner’s Service has been engaged, and the investigation remains ongoing.
