Two Quebec men charged after big bag of crack seized near Behchokǫ̀
More than 460 grams of suspected crack cocaine were found after a vehicle stopped for speeding on Highway 3
Behchokǫ̀ RCMP say a routine traffic stop on Highway 3 on August 22 led to the seizure of more than 460 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and noticed suspicious behaviour, along with open cannabis and unstamped tobacco inside the car.
All three occupants — two men and a woman — were arrested under the Cannabis and Excise Acts.
A further search of the vehicle revealed about 462 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
Two men from Quebec, 29-year-old Steven Jean and 25-year-old Donald Adolphe, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Adolphe is also facing charges for possession of forged documents and unstamped tobacco.
Both men remain in custody after appearing before a Justice of the Peace.
A 21-year-old woman was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
