Final suspect arrested in Fort Smith home invasion case
Tristan Mercredi, 25, faces 14 charges after RCMP tracked him down in Yellowknife
NWT RCMP say they have arrested the last suspect wanted in connection with an armed home invasion in Fort Smith earlier this year.
Tristan Mercredi, 25, was taken into custody at the Super 8 hotel in Yellowknife around 10:50 a.m. on Monday.
He was the final suspect linked to the May 5 incident, when three men allegedly broke into a home on St. Ann Street in Fort Smith and threatened the occupant. Police say one of the suspects brandished a firearm during the incident.
Two other suspects were arrested earlier: Lance Heron, on May 8, and Deonne Bourke, who turned himself in on May 12.
Mercredi is now facing 14 counts of charges, including five firearm-related offences, three counts of failing to comply with a probation order, breaking and entering with intent, two counts of uttering threats, mischief under $5,000, intimidation, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
RCMP say he has been remanded in custody and will appear before a Justice of the Peace.
