Four people have been charged after police intercepted 92 bottles of liquor destined for Gamètì — a community where alcohol is prohibited.
According to a Thursday news release, Yellowknife RCMP were alerted by a local airline in May after a large quantity of alcohol was discovered aboard a privately chartered flight heading to Gamètì.
Following an investigation, three men — aged 73, 49, and 55 — and a 54-year-old woman were charged under the NWT Liquor Act with exposing liquor for sale.
All four are scheduled to appear in court on July 22.
