One person has died and multiple others have been injured in an ongoing “critical incident” in Fort Good Hope.

RCMP asked residents to shelter in place late Tuesday to stay safe.

Since then, additional specialized units have arrived in the community and the residents no longer need to shelter in place, but should stay vigilant.

Police are asking residents not to share the location of officers.

RCMP has not said how the victims were injured, nor how many suspects they are looking for.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to contact the Fort Good Hope RCMP at 598-1111.
