Elizabeth Wright named new chief of Tetlit Zheh

The community of Fort McPherson has named Elizabeth Wright the new Chief of the Teetl’it Gwich’in Band Council late last night.

Wright rang in at 195 votes with opponent Richard Blake coming in at 89 votes.

The new council includes Robert Greenland, Phillip Kay, Kathy Nerysoo, Trina Nerysoo and Kyla Ross.

Wright will serve three years in her position.
