Fort Liard RCMP have found the body of 65-year-old Anthony McLaughlin.

Police say McLaughlin was in the Fort Liard area hiking and was reported missing after not returning a rental car to Fort Nelson.

RCMP sent a public request to find the man last Wednesday.

Searchers found the body yesterday.

Police say McLaughlin’s family has been notified.

RCMP did not say whether police suspected foul play but there is an ongoing investigation by the NWT Coroner.
