The 17-year-old suspect wanted by police has been arrested “without incident”, according to Fort Smith RCMP.

The suspect was wanted for two warrants: one is for assault with a weapon, and the other is for failure to comply with probation orders.

Police say the individual is also a suspect in a series of recent break and enters in the community where a vehicle was stolen along with “multiple long barrel firearms” from two separate locations.

The suspect was considered armed and dangerous since Friday after a shooting left one person dead. While RCMP is continuing the investigation into the death, it has not linked the suspect to this incident. It has also not released any information on the victim.

Police did not give any details on where the suspect was arrested, other than saying it was in Fort Smith.

Updated March 6, 5 p.m.: A previous version of this story included the suspect’s name and photo. CKLB has removed the suspect’s name as they are now a minor in custody.
