Police say there was an online threat directed at Łı̨́ı̨́dĺ̨ı̨́ı̨́ Kų́ę́ High School.

“The threat to the school was posted to an online website and noted by school administration, who subsequently evacuated students from the facility, as a precaution,” reads a news release.

RCMP said the person that made the threat is not in the NWT. Police did not say who the individual was, their location, or when the threat was made.

Officers have dismissed the threat as “not credible.”

Students are returning to class this afternoon.

Benjamin Adams is the school’s principal.

He posted a memo being sent home with students to social media explaining the situation.

According to the memo, RCMP worked with Edmonton police as that is where the threat came from.

It added, “We take these threats very seriously and want to reassure parents that our students’ safety and well-being are paramount. Our school counselor is available for students should they want to avail of this service.”
