Woman found injured, lying on highway near Big River gas station

Police are looking for anyone with information.

A woman was found seriously injured in the middle of Highway 3 near Fort Providence Thursday night.

The RCMP say in a press release the woman has been transported to an Alberta hospital by medevac.

The RCMP say the Fort Providence detachment received a call around 9:30 p.m. reporting an injured woman just south of the Big River gas station.

Police are asking for anyone with information to contact the Fort Providence RCMP at 867-699-1111. This includes anyone who was traveling Highway 3 south of the Big River gas station, in either direction, between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 14.
